Tax Exempt Status


The California Scottish Rite Foundation, is approved as an IRS Code 501(c)(3) organization. It has also been approved as a public charity. Your charitable gifts are tax deductible under Federal and State Rulings to the maximum extent of the law.

The Foundation’s financial statements are audited each year by a Certified Public Accountant. The annual auditor’s report and financial statements as well as the IRS Form 990 are on file in the Foundation office and may be requested from the Executive Secretary.

A letter dated August 16, 2000, from the Internal Revenue Service stating that the determination letter issued to the California Scottish Rite Foundation in July 1988 as an organization exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is still in effect.
